Biography

Erol Gelenbe, FACM, FIEEE, FRSS, FIET, FIFIP is Professor at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences where he Coordinates the EU H2020 Research and Innovation Action SerIoT. He graduated 87 PhD students. As Dennis Gabor Professor in the EEE Dept. (2003-2019) he graduated 26 PhDs. A citizen of France and Turkey, listed in the top 15 researchers in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in the UK. he was elected Foreign Fellow of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters of Belgium (2015), Foreign Fellow of the Polish Science Academy (2013), Honorary Fellow of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2010), Fellow of the National Academy of Technologies of France (2008), the Science Academy of Turkey (Bilim Akademisi) (2012), and Academia Europaea (2005). He is founding Editor-in-Chief of Springer-Nature Computer Science. His recent keynotes include: (i) Product form solution of tightly coupled G-networks, (ii) Saving Energy with Future Quantum Technologies, (iii) Lack of Security Violates Quality of Service, (iv) The Energy Packet Network Framework for Optimising Energy Consumption with Quality of Service. His comments on cybersecurity were broadcast live on the BBC Evening News, 26th June 2017. His publications are listed here. Winner of several international prizes including the Grand Prix France Telecom of the French Academy of Sciences (1992), the ACM SIGMETRICS Life-Time Achievement Award (2008), the "In Memoriam Dennis Gabor Award (2013)" of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and NOVAFER Foundation of Hungary, the Mustafa Prize (2017), and "Honoris Causa" Doctorates by the Universities of Rome II (1986), Bogazici Istanbul (2004) and Liege, Belgium (2006), the REF 2014 evaluation of British Universities recognised the Intelligent Systems and Networks group, which Erol headed at Imperial from 2004-2016, as having "the highest proportion of world leading outputs" in Imperial's EEE Dept., which was Ranked 1st by REF 2014 in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering in the UK. Renowned for inventing and applying mathematical models of computer systems and networks, and pioneering research on Computer and Network Performance, Erol invented mathematical models such as G-networks, and the Random Neural Network and established their product-form asymptotic solutions. He has over 22,700 citations with H = 86. His numerous industry collaborations have resulted in commercial products such as QNAP (Simulog, ASTEK), the first European software package for System Performance Analysis, the FLEXSIM (Flexsim) manufacturing system simulation tool, the SYCOMORE (Thales) Voice Packet Switch, and the C2Agents (QinetiQ) Command and Control Decision Aid. Described by E&T Magazine as a "true IT Innovator", Erol won IET's 2010 Oliver Lodge Medal in the UK. The ACM SIGMETRICS 2008 Life-Time Achievement Award stated that Erol he is "the single individual who, over a span of 30 years, has made the greatest overall contribution to the field of Computer System and Network Performance Evaluation". Other science awards and engineering include: - 2013 "In Memoriam Dennis Gabor Award" of the Hungarian Academy of Science for outstanding science with significant innovation content, from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Gabor was the 1971 Nobel Laureate in Physics). - 1996 France-Telecom Prize of the French Academy of Sciences, - 1994 Parlar Foundation Science Award of Turkey. Erol has invented and obtained exact solutions, known as "product forms", to powerful mathematical models for complex system analysis, such as G-Networks and the Random Neural Network (RNN). Product forms correspond to cases where the mean fields provide exact solutions. G-networks and the RNN have non-linear mean fields. He invented the Cognitive Packet Network patented in 2004, and the first Packet-Voice Network SYCOMORE. The team that he founded, trained and led in Paris, created Europe's first Network Performance Analysis Package QNAP commercialised by INRIA's spin-off SIMULOG. For his services to Research and Higher Education, he was awarded honours by several European nations and Universities: - Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur (France, 2014), and Officier de l'Ordre du Merite (France, 2001), Chevalier des Palmes Academiques (France, 2003). - Commendatore al Merito della Repubblica (Italy, 2005), and Grande Ufficiale dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia (2007). - Honorary Fellowships (Doctorate Honoris Causa) by the Universities of Liege (Belgium, 2006), Bogazici University - Istanbul (Turkey, 2004), and Rome II (Italy, 1996). His current research addresses four related areas: - "Autonomic" or self-aware and self-organising Software Defined Network - Energy Savings in ICT, in the Cloud and through Energy Harvesting for sensors in the Internet of Things (IoT) - Security in mobile networks; he was the coordinator (PI) of the EU FP7 Nemesys project (2012-2015) on Mobile Network Security http://www.nemesys-project.eu/nemesys/ - Reinforcement and Deep Learning with Random Neural Networks; in particular he investigates the effect of dense clusters of cells and of soma-to-soma interactions in neuronal circuits. His work has also included analytical solutions to networked systems in engineering, physics and biology, including energy networks, neural networks, genetic networks, sensor networks and economic agents in the Internet. His publications in the last 10 years appear in journals such as Physical Review, IEEE Networks, IEEE Trans. on Emerging Topics in Computing, IEEE J. of Selected Areas in Communications, Energies, ACM Performance Evaluation Review, IEEE Access, IEEE Trans. on Cloud Computing, Communications of the ACM, ACM Trans. on Sensor Networks, ACM Trans. on Internet Technology, Proceedings Royal Society, ACM Trans. on Adaptive and Autonomous Systems, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience, Neural Computation, The Computer Journal, etc.

Responsibility

Delegates are personally responsible for their belongings at the venue. The Organizers will not be held responsible for any stolen or missing items belonging to Delegates, Speakers or Attendees; due to any reason whatsoever.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind.

Transportation

Please note that any (or) all transportation and parking is the responsibility of the registrant.

Press/Media

Press permission must be obtained from Allied Academies Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The Allied academies are a non-profit organization. This conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter

For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference. Once your registration is complete, please contact (bigdata@alliedgather.com) to request a personalized letter of invitation.

Regarding refunds, all bank charges will be for the registrant's account.

Cancellation, Postponement and Transfer of Registration

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to Program Manager( bigdata@alliedgather.com and finance@alliedacademies.com ) and the support number is +44-2037691755 Extn 5041

Cancellation Policy

If Allied academies cancel this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies Conferences (AAC) event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.

Postponement

If Allied academies postpone an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies Conferences event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Transfer of registration

All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to Program Manager. Details must be included with the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 14 days of the respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied Academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues cannot come under the consideration of cancellation policy of Allied Academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy

If the registrant is unable to attend, and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund arrangements apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overheads, we had to keep Refund Policy is as following slabs-

· Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund less $100 service Fee

· Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund

· Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund

· E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy

Accommodation Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies, and they generally apply when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. Please contact us as soon as possible, if you wish to cancel or amend your accommodation. Allied Academies will advise the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancelling or amending your booking, to ensure you are fully aware of any non-refundable deposits.
